NEWS - Next Generation Sequencing

The Ramaciotti Centre has recently taken delivery of both a Roche Genome Sequencer FLX and an Illumina Genome Analyzer II. Purchase of these high throughput sequencers was made possible through funding from the ACR via LIEF 2008, UNSW special funding and money from the Ramaciotti Centre.

Training on both instruments has been completed and full service will be available in the coming months. We will be officially launching our next-generation sequencing with an afternoon of seminars on June 11.

In early April we welcomed Karolina Janitz to our staff who will team up with Jason Koval managing both our traditional and next generation sequencing services.
