DNA Analysis at the Ramaciotti Centre

The DNA Sequencing Analysis Facility was established in 1995. It offers DNA sequencing and fragment analysis services using an Applied Biosystems 3730 DNA Analyzer. The AB3730 is a medium to high throughput genetic analysis instrument used for DNA Sequencing and DNA Fragment Analysis including microsatellites, AFLP’s, RFLP’s and SNP’s.

We are committed to providing our customers with a quality sequencing service. We pride ourselves on our exceptional customer service, accurate results, low cost and a fast turnaround time of 1-3 working days from receipt of samples. The facility provides a service to both University and external research organisations.

We provide a capillary electrophoresis service only and require our customers to perform the fluorescent labeling reactions and prepare the reaction products for capillary electrophoresis. Completed reactions sent to the facility are placed in a queue. Customers are notified when processing is complete at which point the results are available for download.

The facility also sells sequencing and molecular biology consumables at greatly reduced prices.
